I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated from ASU West in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Bilingual/ESL endorsement. I received my Reading Endorsement in 2005 and an Early Childhood Endorsement in 2006. I began my teaching career in the Glendale Elementary School District as a bilingual kindergarden teacher. After three years, I moved to the Deer Valley Unified School District and began teaching first grade. I taught first grade for four years and this will be my fourth year teaching 2nd grade. This is my sixth year at Bellair Elementary.
On a personal note, I am married and have two children. My husband, Chris, is a firefighter/paramedic with the El Mirage Fire Department. My son, Ryne, is seven years old and loves to play legos and video games. He is in 2nd grade. My daughter, Grace, is four years old and loves to play with her dolls and dress up. She also loves to play video games with her brother. We live in north Phoenix with our cocker spaniel, Dexter.
